The website "Eat This, Not That!" states that over 2 million pizzas are sold by Pizza Hut during the Super Bowl! In honor of the KC Chiefs Super Bowl this coming weekend, here are some more interesting pizza facts:
The first pizza is believed to have been created in Naples in the 1500s. Dough with slices of tomato and cheese made a cheap and low cost meal for families.
Pizza was not popular in the United States until soldiers coming home from overseas brought the idea of pizza back with them after World War II.
A gourmet pizzeria in Italy boasts the most expensive pizza. It has lobster, buffalo mozzarella, caviar, and pink Australian salt on it. It costs $12,000!
