Have you ever played the board game MouseTrap?  My family played it for years, but we didn't play the game part, we just set up the contraption that drops a cage down onto an unsuspecting mouse.  It was so fun watching the old shoe kick the bucket, causing a little ball to roll down the crooked staircase and smoothly down the pipe. My brother and sisters and I would play that for hours!  Years later, we were told that this mousetrap was an example of a Rube Goldberg machine.

Today's website is www.rubegoldberg.com  Here you will find that Rube Goldberg was a cartoonist and an inventor who lived from 1883-1970.  Rube drew cartoons about doing a simple task in an over complicated and often funny way.  This website has videos of Rube Goldberg machines working to do simple tasks like turning off a light or using a bar of soap.  You can also go to YouTube to find videos of Rube Goldberg machines in action.  Once you start watching, you get hooked!  (I notice that domino blocks are often used in Rube Goldberg machines *wink*)

Enjoy!

Fun Fact:

Google is featuring another game on its website today:  Halloween 2016.  It's a lot of fun, even if it is only May, lol!

That is all for today.  See you tomorrow!
I miss you!
