Happy Thursday!
Today's special shout out is to my "D" day classes! Big "Hello" to the students in the following classes:
Ms Davis 3rd grade, Ms Hassemer 4th grade, Ms Cummings 5th grade, Ms. Blume Kindergarten, Ms Johnson 1st grade, and Ms Heath 2nd grade!
We can also say a "Hello and Welcome Back" to three of the astronauts on the International Space Station who will be returning to Earth this Friday, April 17th: Andrew Morgan, Oleg Skripochka, and Jessica Meir.

I was looking at some of the topics that we would cover in class, and 2nd grade would be practicing typing a friendly letter. What a great activity for all students to stay in touch with your friends these days! If you go to Student Resources on the Shepard website and click on ABCYa!, you will find the activity Type A Friendly Letter. The activity will introduce you to the basic components of creating a friendly letter: Heading, Salutation, Body, Closing, Signature. Here is a friendly letter that I created for YOU:
